Linux kernel是美国Linux基金会发布的开源操作系统Linux所使用的内核。NFSv4 implementation是其中的一个分布式文件系统协议。 Linux kernel 3.7.6之前的版本中的net/bluetooth/hidp/core.c中的‘hidp_setup_hid’函数中存在漏洞，该漏洞源于程序没有正确复制某些名字字段。通过设置较长的名字和进行HIDPCONNADD ioctl调用，本地攻击者利用该漏洞获得从内核内存中敏感信息。
