Xen 3.1 through 4.x, when running 64-bit hosts on Intel CPUs, does not clear the NT flag when using an IRET after a SYSENTER instruction, which allows PV guest users to cause a denial of service (hypervisor crash) by triggering a #GP fault, which is not properly handled by another IRET instruction.

Xen是英国剑桥大学开发的一款开源的虚拟机监视器产品。该产品能够使不同和不兼容的操作系统运行在同一台计算机上，并支持在运行时进行迁移，保证正常运行并且避免宕机。 Xen 3.1至4.x版本中存在漏洞，当运行在64-bit主机Intel CPUs上时，该漏洞源于在SYSENTER指令之后使用IRET期间程序未清理NT标志。PV客户端用户可通过触发#GP错误，利用该漏洞造成拒绝服务（虚拟机管理程序崩溃）不正确处理另一个IRET指令。
