Linux kernel是美国Linux基金会发布的开源操作系统Linux所使用的内核。NFSv4 implementation是其中的一个分布式文件系统协议。 Linux kernel 3.7.1及之前的版本中的fs/nfs/nfs4proc.c文件中的‘__nfs4_get_acl_uncached’函数中存在缓冲区溢出漏洞。本地攻击者可通过对NFSv4文件系统上的‘system.nfs4_acl’属性进行getxattr系统调用，利用该漏洞造成拒绝服务（内存损坏和系统崩溃），或可能产生其他影响。
