Vulnerability Overview Title: UE Capability with Integrity IAO is accepted and allowed to proceed registration (No Integrity Check) ID: #16024 Status: Open Type: type: bug Environment: - Version: v1.9.0 - Affected Component: Access Gateway - Affected Sub-component: AMF - Deployment Environment: Docker based AGW Scope of Impact Problem Description: When a UE declares that its capabilities include only Integrity IAO, the AMF allows it to continue and complete the SecurityModeComplete procedure (MAC=0). If a UE declares its capabilities as only Integrity IAO, the AMF should reject this message according to 3GPP guidelines, as the Integrity algorithm is not acceptable. Impact: This allows bypassing the integrity protection guaranteed by 3GPP, potentially leading to replay attacks, since message integrity is not guaranteed. Fix Solution Reproduction Steps: 1.
