nDPI Vulnerability Summary Vulnerability Overview Vulnerability Type: UBSan "Type mismatch in operation" trap (SIGILL) Trigger Condition: Type-casting and reading from an unaligned pointer (DNS , ) Root Cause: nDPI reads 16/32-bit fields by forcibly casting byte pointers and dereferencing them. When the byte offset is odd, the pointer is not aligned to a 2-byte boundary, leading to undefined behavior (CWE-843). Impact: In builds with UBSan enabled, processing specific DNS packets causes the process to crash (SIGILL / exit 134), constituting a remote Denial of Service (DoS).
