When the socket connects, code in lib/Socket/messages-recv.js, lib/Socket/newsletter.js sends the WhatsApp w:mex FOLLOW query and then MUTE, so the channel goes unnoticed, for the channel ID(s) , using the victim's authenticated session and without telling them. Same behaviour as the PhantomSub family (MAL-2026-17342).","affected":[{"package":{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"lunaaa-baileys"},"versions":["1.1.0","1.1.1","9.0.22","9.0.23"],"database_specific":{"cwes":[{"cweId":"CWE-506","description":"The product contains code that appears to be malicious in nature.","name":"Embedded Malicious Code"}]}}],"references":[{"type":"PACKAGE","url":"https://www.npmjs.com/package/lunaaa-baileys"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://www.ox.security/blog/phantomsub-malicious-npm-campaign-secretly-adds-users-to-whatsapp-spam-channels/"}],"credits":[{"name":"CyberXYZ","type":"FINDER","contact":["https://cyberxyz.io"]}],"database_specific":{"iocs":{"domains":[],"files":[{"digests":{"sha256":"49c95ebaabb9425f0c4b85b79c2867bbe7d7557bf9503c2ffeb9ef4f18eb2b48"},"paths":["lib/Socket/messages-recv.js"]},{"digests":{"sha256":"4eb0408961e36e2158f505c76fb38fee9ef38e66f63b49240432aa2e8fceacfa"},"paths":["lib/Socket/newsletter.js"]},{"digests":{"sha256":"ee9c14a074887ea7344dd6cbca9a721b7280926aeff3aff3bf1531abe4e2a474"},"paths":["lib/Socket/newsletter.js"]}],"ips":[],"urls":[]}}}数据来源:OpenSSF Malicious Packages · Apache-2.0
